Study hard, get good grades, so that you can get into a good college and then get a great job. How many times has that saying been beaten into kids’ heads since the dawn of time. Whether or not I think it’s good advice or not (I don’t), there’s so much to consider when deciding whether or not to go to college, and if so, which one.
The numbers are a bit staggering, in terms of overall costs, and worse, the amount of debt students get themselves into that ends up following them the rest of their lives. I know I still have that lovely student loan sitting around that is getting paid off monthly for what will seem like an eternity.
Here’s a tid bit or two:
- The average student will leave college with $23,000 in debt
- $1 TRILLION dollars- the total outstanding U.S. student loan debt. Ugh
